The Production Technician performs a variety of manufacturing and assembly tasks to support production operations. This role includes verifying materials, operating and calibrating equipment, assembling components and kits, dispensing or packaging products, and completing required documentation following Good Documentation Practices (GDP). This role may support several production areas including instrument assembly, consumables assembly, packaging, dispensing, print shop, and injection molding.
Job Responsibility:
Perform basic manufacturing tasks and assist with maintenance of semi-automatic and automated assembly equipment
Calibrate and operate equipment while dispensing or packaging dry and wet products
Assemble components and kits according to work instructions
Verify required materials against process orders and prepare work areas for production operations
Follow detailed work instructions to execute production tasks accurately
Perform in-line quality inspections and weigh finished products to confirm they meet specifications
Inspect products using visual, automated, electronic, and mechanical inspection procedures
Complete production documentation accurately and on time following Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
Ensure scrap and waste materials are disposed of properly
Operate motorized and non-motorized equipment to move materials and supplies
Maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality systems
Maintain 5S standards and keep work areas organized
Assist with special projects and perform additional duties as assigned
Perform basic troubleshooting of equipment when necessary
Maintain quality records and monitor inventory levels in work areas
Communicate any abnormal production issues to supervisors
May work on different shifts as production needs change
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
0–3 years of related manufacturing or production experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Ability to read, write, and follow detailed written instructions
Basic math, problem solving, and computer skills
Experience operating manual, semi-automatic, or automatic production machinery preferred
SAP experience is a plus
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a team environment
Flexibility to work overtime or weekends as needed
