Seeking a leader for our 2nd shift Aerospace plant with strong communication and team building skills who helps the operations team successfully deliver quality parts on-time to customers safely
Job Responsibility:
Oversee activities of employees working in the manufacturing of product to ensure safety, quality and productivity
Act as an effective communicator between management and production employees in order to build and maintain relationships
Plan and assign work, implement procedures, and enforce policies
Suggest methods for improving production, processes, or operating conditions
Ensure employees follow safety regulations knowledgeable about safety requirements and make sure that no violations occur
Ensure production of products meets or exceeds efficiency and company quality standards
Ensure steady flow of production activities by coordinating working schedules and overtime to meet production goals
Ensure optimal machine utilization
Ensure supplies and resources are provided
Initiate, recommend, investigate, trouble-shoot and provide solutions and actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to the products, process and quality system
Motivate and develop a cohesive production team, by building trust, rewarding, recognizing positive behavior and solving conflicts quickly
Lead teams to meet production metrics and engage in continuous improvement activities
Responsible for the operators' performance reviews, training & development, discipline and attendance
Recommends and implements action plans to correct deviations noted during audits
Develop more cost-effective processes and reduce waste while also increasing productivity and employee satisfaction
Assist with manpower planning and interviewing job applicants
Requirements:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to build a team environment
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent mix of related leadership experience and training
Two or more years’ related experience in manufacturing or job-shop environment
Computer/technical skills including: Proficient in Microsoft office products, MRP/ERP and ability to learn others as needed
Ability to work onsite with a reasonable commute to Shelbyville, KY
US Person as defined by ITAR/EAR requirements
Nice to have:
Bachelor’s Degree
2-5 years’ experience supervising or managing others
Knowledge of metal forming, roll forming, welding, machining, metal fabrication
