We are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to guide onsite manufacturing activities in Hayward, California within the food processing industry. This Long-term Contract position is suited for a hands-on leader who can keep production moving efficiently while upholding strict quality, sanitation, and safety expectations. The role will oversee day-to-day floor operations, support a high-performing team, and help maintain dependable output in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibility:
Direct daily floor activity across production, packaging, sanitation, and related operations to maintain a steady and efficient workflow
Supervise, coach, and develop a team of approximately 12 employees, setting clear expectations and reinforcing accountability
Coordinate production plans and staffing priorities to meet volume targets while making effective use of labor and materials
Track operational results such as output, downtime, yield, and product quality, then take corrective action when performance gaps arise
Uphold food safety, quality control, and regulatory requirements throughout the manufacturing process
Work closely with quality, maintenance, and operations partners to address equipment issues, process interruptions, and other production challenges
Monitor raw material consumption and inventory accuracy to reduce waste and support uninterrupted production
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment by enforcing workplace safety standards and sanitation practices
Identify opportunities to streamline processes and apply continuous improvement methods that increase efficiency and reduce downtime
Requirements:
At least 5 years of experience in food manufacturing or a related production environment
Previous experience leading production teams, ideally in settings with 10 or more employees
Strong understanding of food safety, quality assurance, and compliance standards within a manufacturing operation
Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, output-driven environment with changing priorities
Proven leadership and communication skills with the ability to guide teams on the production floor
Knowledge of production scheduling, raw material control, and performance measurement in a manufacturing setting
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement practices is preferred
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and production tracking tools is an advantage
