Under the direction of the Operations Manager, this individual will coach front-line leadership and engage hourly technicians in plant-wide initiatives, including Continuous Improvement Projects and High-Performance Organization (HPO) initiatives. The hours for this role would be 3pm - 11pm. Additionally, this role is responsible for ensuring safety, product quality, line efficiency, budgetary goals, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and organizational capability/employee morale. The individual will lead in a High-Performance Organization to execute strategies aligned with the department across all three shifts.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure clear direction and priorities for the business unit and that these are aligned with the site for all 3 shifts
Develop and maintain teamwork plan and budget
Manage direct and indirect labor efficiently
Develop Team Leaders, Service Leaders and all other leadership
Provide training, coaching and facilitation
Manage the Safety system within their area
Lead the development of key daily management systems in the business unit such as DDS, CL, RCFA and Operational Standards documentation
Communicate business unit results and needs to senior management
Provide organizational leadership appropriate to foster positive employee relations and meeting the evolving needs of the business
Track and gap results vs. work plan and budget for all KPI's including safety and quality
Involved in all activities including daily management, budgeting, strategic planning, TDC initiatives, enabler planning and execution and the capital forecasting process
Leading and coordinating activities with the team to achieve KPIs on Safety, Quality, Customer Service (schedule compliance and attainment), Reliability (OEE and changeovers), Cost (Yield, material management), and People (Talent development, coaching/feedback to correct and support behaviors)
Participating in and/or leading elements in strategic planning for the broader operations department on the operational excellence platform, including equipment operational strategies, talent development, crewing, flexibility, and team structure
Managing the business unit across all three shifts, focusing on Safety, Quality, Cost, Production, Delivery, and Morale
Requirements:
High school diploma/GED required, with 1+ years of supervisory experience or 2+ years of operations experience in a manufacturing environment OR Bachelor's degree required
Nice to have:
2+ years of operations leadership experience (Operations Supervisor, Operations Team Lead, Sr Operations level role) within a manufacturing environment
Expertise in overseeing daily operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and adherence to quality standards
Cross functional operations experiencing with a strong understanding of various plant functions
