We're seeking a hands-on, safety-focused Production Supervisor to lead daily operations at our Essex Quarry. In this key role, you’ll oversee daily operations at our processing plants to ensure high-quality production, efficient workflows, and compliance with safety and environmental standards. This role will also help coordinate routine plant maintenance and sourcing replacement parts through an approved vendor list. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you’ll be a part of the production supervisor team on site, supporting a skilled team while driving continuous improvement in production performance. This full-time role offers a competitive salary range of $75,000–$85,000. This will be a rotating shift supervisory position (days/afternoons). Job Responsibility:
Manage daily production schedules to meet sales demands and inventory targets
Oversee machine inspections and plant equipment performance
Process employee timecards and liaise with payroll to resolve discrepancies
Generate and analyze daily production reports
Supervise subcontractors and consultants during plant construction or upgrades
Support procurement of parts and consumables for ongoing maintenance
Assist in budget preparation and monitor costs
Promote and enforce safety and environmental standards and training
Lead and motivate a production team, identifying training needs and ensuring operational efficiency
Foster positive labor relations and assist with collective agreement administration
Requirements:
High school diploma (minimum)
college diploma or university degree preferred
2+ years in plant operations and/or supervisory roles, preferably in the aggregates, construction or heavy industrial sector
Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s Licence
Strong leadership and team coordination skills
Knowledge of environmental, health & safety legislation
Detail-oriented with excellent recordkeeping and reporting skills
Proficient with computer systems to track production and generate reports
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
