Under minimal supervision using independent judgment and decision-making, supervises a team of electromechanical assemblers and testers to meet Company goals in the areas of quality, on-time delivery and cost. Is a key member of the manufacturing team who may lead kaizen events in support of continuous process improvement and lean manufacturing. This is a generic job description applicable to all product lines.
Job Responsibility:
Monitors production schedules, material and human resources
Conducts kaizen events toward the goal of continuous process improvement
Identifies and solves operational problems
Determines workforce requirements to meet production schedules
Creates and maintains reports and production documentation to reflect schedules, performance, quality and on-time delivery
Sets and enforces high standards of safety
Hires, trains, evaluates and directs employees
Makes recommendations regarding materials, equipment and processes
Requirements:
Four year degree in manufacturing, manufacturing engineering or related field preferred but not required
At least two years of trade school with an emphasis in mechanical design or electronic technology or more than five years of relevant experience
At least five years supervisory experience in a manufacturing plant, preferably in an electromechanical environment for the aerospace/defense industry
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
