Job Description:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the management, development and efficient operation of the production employees. This is a temporary position, with the opportunity of becoming permanent.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide leadership and direct supervision to hourly production employees/lead hands in the assigned department
  • Manage safe, cost effective and efficient production
  • Participate in audits
  • Continuously improve plant manufacturing efficiencies and quality
  • Ensure employee safety and overall compliance to Albertas Workplace Health and Safety Act
  • Ensure Compliance with all HACCP procedures
  • Maintain a positive relationship with Union Members
  • Administer terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Ensure Open and effective communication with both hourly and salaried employees
  • Available to work overtime hours as required

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ supervision experience in a fast paced, unionized environment an asset
  • Familiar with, health & safety, HACCP and CFIA statutory regulations
  • Strong knowledge of labor relations issues
  • Good oral and written communication
  • Excellent initiative and leadership skills
  • Excellent planning, analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced production environment
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • The ability to live and teach our Canada Packers leadership values
  • Initiative, sense of urgency, “Can-Do” attitude a must
  • Well - developed English communication skills (verbal, written, reading)
