The Production Supervisor is responsible for the management, development and efficient operation of the production employees. This is a temporary position, with the opportunity of becoming permanent.
Job Responsibility:
Provide leadership and direct supervision to hourly production employees/lead hands in the assigned department
Manage safe, cost effective and efficient production
Participate in audits
Continuously improve plant manufacturing efficiencies and quality
Ensure employee safety and overall compliance to Albertas Workplace Health and Safety Act
Ensure Compliance with all HACCP procedures
Maintain a positive relationship with Union Members
Administer terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
Ensure Open and effective communication with both hourly and salaried employees
Available to work overtime hours as required
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years’ supervision experience in a fast paced, unionized environment an asset
Familiar with, health & safety, HACCP and CFIA statutory regulations
Strong knowledge of labor relations issues
Good oral and written communication
Excellent initiative and leadership skills
Excellent planning, analytical and organizational skills
Ability to function in a fast-paced production environment
The ability to work effectively in a team environment
The ability to live and teach our Canada Packers leadership values
Initiative, sense of urgency, “Can-Do” attitude a must
Well - developed English communication skills (verbal, written, reading)
