The Production Scheduler owns the production schedule for the company and ensures customer expectations are met through maximizing the throughput of the manufacturing operation and the availability of quality products to meet order demand. Maintain the production schedule through applying demand forecast and understanding quality standards, production capacity and relevant constraints as well as resource requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Provide supervision of manufacturing/production activities to include: schedule of responsibilities and employee work assignments
supervise and train employees operating assigned stations along a processing line
Actively participate in establishing and managing the company’s inventory plan
modify the production schedule as necessary to support fluctuations in the plan or to meet changes in demand forecast
Work with internal and external stakeholders to obtain feedback regarding production status and any relevant updates that are needed to be communicated
Understand capacity and relevant constraints on capacity to ensure appropriate outsourced suppliers and resources are available on a timely basis to meet production schedule
Identify and resolve bottlenecks, supply shortages, work force issues, capacity constraints and other issues that inhibit execution of the production schedule
Partner with purchasing to ensure the necessary materials and manufactured parts are available and released in accordance with production schedules
Ensure the necessary order and schedule information is timely and accurately entered into the ERP system and updated as necessary on a real time basis
Analyze and provide applicable month end reporting reports on all relevant production items and metrics
Actively participate in meetings as required or deemed appropriate
Maintain and utilize the ERP system for all relevant master data items that impact production
Seek out opportunities for continuous improvement and efficiencies
Requirements:
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field of study
Up to three years of production planning, demand forecasting, master scheduling, or other relevant operational experience within the manufacturing industry
Strong knowledge of production scheduling concepts and standards of practice in a manufacturing environment
Proficiency using a Personal Computer (PC) to include Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
Proficiency using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and related production planning technology tools
Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand data through logical evaluation and review
Good communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing
Good time management skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple competing demands
Problem solving skills and the ability to regularly be detail oriented
Ability to be reasonably flexible and adapt to change
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness
Represents the appropriate physical requirements of the job in the course of the work
