Job Description

Premier Galvanizing is looking to recruit a Production Planning & Quality Assistant to support the Operations Manager. The Production Planning & Quality Co-ordinator will play a key role supporting both production planning and quality functions. This position provides vital administrative and coordination support, ensuring accurate documentation, effective data management, and smooth day-to-day operations across the business. You will collaborate closely with Production, Sales, Logistics, Technical, and Administration teams to maintain accurate records, support scheduling activities, monitor quality processes, and contribute to operational reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist in maintaining and updating daily production schedules
  • Support the communication of production priorities and delivery timelines
  • Liaise with Sales and Logistics teams to coordinate customer orders and deliveries
  • Ensure production-related documentation is accurate and up to date
  • Accurately input customer sales orders into Sage (or equivalent system)
  • Prepare, manage, and maintain production, quality, and delivery documentation
  • Carry out general administrative duties, including filing, printing, and document control
  • Keep organised and accessible records for inspections, customer requirements, and internal reporting
  • Assist in checking incoming and outgoing goods against quality standards
  • Maintain records of Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), inspections, and quality checks
  • Support the preparation of quality documentation for customer handovers
  • Help track corrective actions and contribute to root cause analysis documentation
  • Collect, update, and maintain production and quality data
  • Produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports, including OTIF (On Time In Full) metrics
  • Monitor KPIs and contribute to management reporting
  • Analyse trends and highlight potential areas for improvement
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across production and quality processes
  • Ensure all documentation complies with company procedures and standards
  • Promote safe working practices and adherence to health & safety requirements
  • Contribute to a culture focused on quality, accuracy, and right-first-time delivery

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an administrative, production coordination, quality support, or manufacturing environment
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel and Outlook
  • Experience with Sage or similar ERP systems is desirable
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Ability to manage and analyse data accurately, producing clear reports
  • Self-motivated with strong time management and prioritisation skills
  • Basic understanding of production planning or quality assurance processes is advantageous
