Operating within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, they specialise in CNC machining, precision inspection, and delivery of complex components to demanding customer schedules and quality standards. The Role An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Production Planner to join a busy precision manufacturing environment supporting aerospace and high-specification engineering customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating production activities to ensure customer orders are delivered on time, in full, and to the required quality standards. The role will involve close coordination with production, purchasing, quality, engineering, and customers to maintain efficient workflow across the machine shop.
Job Responsibility
Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules for CNC machining, inspection, finishing, and subcontract operations
Prioritise work orders based on customer requirements, delivery commitments, and production capacity
Monitor machine loading and labour utilisation to optimise throughput and minimise bottlenecks
Ensure realistic scheduling considering setup times, lead times, and process complexity
Maintain accurate ERP/MRP system updates and production forecasts
Ensure customer delivery targets are achieved and proactively communicate any risks or delays
Liaise with customers regarding order status, schedule changes, and recovery plans
Support On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance targets
Expedite urgent orders and priority programmes where required
Work closely with purchasing teams to ensure raw materials, tooling, and subcontract services are available in line with production schedules
Monitor shortages and coordinate recovery actions
Coordinate external processes including heat treatment, anodising, plating, NDT, and other special processes
Maintain traceability requirements for materials and subcontract operations
Track work order progress throughout the shop floor and identify scheduling risks
Attend daily production meetings and provide planning updates
Analyse production performance and support efficiency improvements
Assist with reducing lead times, WIP, overdue orders, and scheduling inaccuracies
Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
Assist with KPI reporting including OTD, machine utilisation, backlog, and schedule adherence
Support compliance with AS9100 and customer-specific quality requirements
Ensure planning activities support full material and process traceability
Coordinate with Quality and Engineering teams regarding FAI documentation, route cards, and controlled documentation
Support revision control and configuration management processes
Requirements
Minimum 2–3 years’ experience within production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing coordination
Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows and production processes
Experience within aerospace, automotive, medical, or precision engineering environments
Experience using ERP/MRP systems
Strong organisational and multitasking skills
Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities
Good communication and problem-solving abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and standard office software
Fluent English language skills – essential
Candidates must already hold full legal eligibility to work in Ireland – no permit sponsorship available

Experience within an AS9100 environment
Understanding of aerospace documentation and traceability requirements
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
Experience coordinating subcontract or special process operations
