This role oversees production control and planning within a manufacturing environment, ensuring alignment across internal assembly teams and external supply chain functions. You will be responsible for planning and coordinating activities to ensure smooth operations, timely delivery, and effective communication between internal teams and customers. A key focus of this position is managing secondary processes and subcontracting workflows.
Job Responsibility:
Calculate and purchase special items required for secondary processes and handle all outsourcing activities, such as spray processes
Issue and monitor Bill of Material Requisitions (BMR), working closely with Assembly and Subcontractor teams for progress tracking and closing
Monitor parts supply from subcontractors, issue non-billing documentation, and follow up on outstanding PO statuses
Update and maintain dedicated customer portals and inventory systems for major accounts
Prepare and submit monthly inventory reports and weekly outstanding PO summaries to ensure transparency with customers
Authorised to act within the capacity of the Head of Department in the absence of senior planning leadership
Provide direct supervision and guidance to the Planning Officer
Requirements:
Preferably a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in any field or equivalent
Ideally 2 years of experience in production planning, material control, or a related manufacturing section
Knowledgeable in ERP systems and highly computer literate
Experience managing "Secondary Processes" or outsourced manufacturing units
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise across departments and with external vendors
Ability to monitor supply status and manage inventory reports effectively
