Job Description

We are looking for a Production Planner to support manufacturing operations in Hayward, California by building practical production schedules that align customer demand, material availability, and shop capacity. This Long-term Contract position plays a key role in keeping output on track, improving coordination across departments, and reducing delays that can affect delivery performance. The ideal candidate brings strong planning judgment, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to work closely with manufacturing, purchasing, inventory, quality, shipping, and sales teams.

Job Responsibility

  • Build and maintain production schedules that balance customer requirements, labor availability, equipment capacity, and material supply
  • Review forecasts, work orders, inventory data, product specifications, and routing details to determine effective production sequencing and resource allocation
  • Track the movement of materials, components, and assemblies across departments to help prevent bottlenecks and support uninterrupted operations
  • Partner with production teams to address scheduling conflicts, shortages, delays, and other issues that could impact output or delivery commitments
  • Analyze planning and operational performance, then prepare status updates and reports for stakeholders on schedule attainment and related metrics
  • Work with quality, shipping, sales, and other cross-functional teams to improve lead times and strengthen on-time delivery results
  • Identify opportunities to improve production flow, planning accuracy, and overall process efficiency within the operation
  • Support compliance with safety, environmental, and quality management standards while carrying out daily planning activities
  • Use ERP and MRP tools, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 when applicable, to manage planning data and support system-related planning activities, including implementation efforts if needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • At least 5-10 years of experience in production planning, supply chain planning, or a similar manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of production control, material requirements planning, inventory management, and broader supply chain principles
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for reporting, analysis, and day-to-day coordination
  • Experience using ERP or MRP platforms
  • familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is preferred
