Our client is a global industrial leader driving innovation in seamless energy management & complex electrical engineering solutions for their global and local customer base. They are actively seeking a mid-senior level Production Planner to join their Production Team at the Ingleburn Local Adaptation Centre (LAC) modifying and improving parts for local requirements and assembling components for major infrastructure projects balancing equipment and labor capacity without crashing the general production flow. This role requires a distinct Make-to-Order mindset rather than a repetitive flow mentality. You will spend significant time collaborating with operators on the factory floor, meaning you must be approachable, personable, and confident. As the current planner is based interstate, the business specifically wants a locally based professional to take on this 12-month FTC.
Job Responsibility:
Develop, maintain, and optimize daily and weekly production schedules
Translate demand forecasts, sales orders, and inventory targets into actionable production plans
Staying agile based on material, labor, leadtime, & urgent priorities planning
Optimize by balancing equipment and labor capacity
proactively solve bottlenecks rather than simply scheduling
Prioritize custom parts for major infrastructure projects while maintaining the general production flow
Monitor raw material levels and coordinate with procurement to prevent stockouts and reduce excess stock
Identify material shortages, delays, or risks and escalate issues appropriately
Communicate plans, changes, and priorities clearly to Production, Warehouse, Procurement, and Quality teams
Maintain accurate data in ERP/MRP planning systems and track KPIs such as schedule adherence and production throughput
Requirements:
5+ years of intermediate/senior experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or production coordination
Proficiency in production planning tools and ERP systems such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or Oracle
Strong understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, lead times, and capacity planning
Excellent analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, and a high attention to detail
Clear communication skills with a proven ability to manage stakeholders and adapt to rapidly changing priorities
