Job Description

The Production Painter is a vital part of the décor designs created at CIP. Our Painters help prepare surfaces, mix paints for different needs, and apply them with various types of brushes and spray guns. You will be responsible for setting up, monitoring and painting the assigned products with attention to detail and quality.

Job Responsibility

  • Applies coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings and other structures: Reads work order or receives instructions from supervisor regarding painting.
  • Smooths surfaces, using sandpaper, brushes, or steel wool, and removes old paint from surfaces, using paint remover, scraper, or wire brush to prepare surfaces for painting.
  • Select premixed paints, or mixes required portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors.
  • Paints surfaces, using brushes, spray guns, or paint rollers.
  • Simulates wood grain, marble, brick, or tile effects.
  • Applies paint with cloth, brush, sponge, or fingers to create special effects.
  • Cleaning machines, equipment and work areas using water, solvents and other cleaning aids
  • Following safeguards, rules and regulations
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes
  • Aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting
  • Other duties as needed

Requirements

  • Experience using various paint brushes and spray guns (gravity and air fed)
  • Good color vision and aesthetic instincts
  • Familiarity with painting tools and materials
  • Time management skills to ensure tasks are completed on schedule
  • Ability to collaborate with others and work independently
  • Ability to communicate information clearly
  • Attention to detail and quality, required
  • High School Diploma
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting and moving materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment may include exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
