Our Packers in the Packing department pack over 70,000 boxes/baskets in a week which equals to around 1.6 million meals. Working as a member of the packing team; the successful candidate plays a very important role within the manufacturing process, being the last point of the quality check before the product goes out to our customer. Working Sunday to Thursday 22:00-06:00 total 40 hours.
Job Responsibility:
Must be able to manage with the demands of the palletisation of products/ Boxes and baskets and occasionally packing products into boxes and baskets
Heavy lifting will be involving lifting up to 25kg
Checking all products are sent out, with the correct label, date and seal quality
Be willing to train to the highest standards within the Packing department
Changeovers- ensure that all old materials are removed from the line and replaced with the correct materials for the new product
Ensuring that the working environment is clear of rubbish
Once training and experience of packing lines is gained it will be expected that when needed you will need to cover line/s for breaks
Inform the team leader or members of staff if you think there is a potential issue with the quality of the product you are packing
Hygiene: Follow correct hygiene procedures, operate to a clean (and tidy) as you go policy
Health and safety- work in a safe manner at all times, follow safe working practices, and report any accidents or dangerous occurrences
Requirements:
Good standards in English and Math
Experience of working to set standards and KPIs
Experience of working in a production environment
Have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn new tasks within the department
Promote good team work – help others
Have a desire to help the team meet the department targets
Able to work on own initiative
Willingness to undertake Level 2 Food Safety training: a pass level must be obtained
