Job Description

Are you an experienced Production Operative looking for a new challenge? Would you like to work 4 days a week (Monday - Thursday)? Receiving a competitive hourly rate and additional benefits. We're currently hiring Production Operatives for temporary, ongoing roles at Caterpillar Larne facility.

Job Responsibility

Mechanically prepare substrates to required standard using power tools
Clean and prepare surfaces as per specification
Stripe coating, cutting in and masking out
Assembling, sub-assemblies, options and other components of generator sets
Works from prints and standard work instructions to produce components of generator sets and similar large assemblies
Works across various areas of the business, including, but not limited to, fettle/ paint, machine shop, paintline, nutsert/ assembly
Compliance with safety and quality standards
Compliance with 5S programme and other business improvement initiatives
Display behaviour and conduct fitting with our Values in Action
Train other employees if and when required
Any other appropriate duties

Requirements

The ability to follow and comprehend verbal, specific and detailed procedures and work instructions as well as basic arithmetic calculations in order to perform the duties described above
Ability to work reasonable amounts of overtime and various shift patterns
Good communication skills, experience working in a team environment

Nice to have

The ability to use hand tools, power tools, and to be able to read and interpret drawings
Previous experience working in a lean environment
Previous mechanical experience
Experience working to takt times
Reasonable level of computer literacy where required
