Planet Recruitment are currently recruiting for Production Operatives for an immediate start to join a busy and fast-paced food manufacturing operation. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a multi-skilled team, supporting a range of operational activities including production, hygiene, warehousing, quality, and health & safety. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring high-quality products are produced and prepared for distribution to customers. Working within a 24/7 manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for operating machinery and automated equipment, maintaining hygiene standards, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
Job Responsibility

Provide support and guidance within the team, leading by example
Comply with all Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Food Safety procedures
Support continuous improvement initiatives, including participation in audits and process reviews
Operate a range of machinery and equipment safely and effectively
Follow site procedures to ensure efficient production and product quality standards are maintained
Carry out hygiene and housekeeping duties in line with company standards
Conduct visual inspections and validation checks of hygiene activities, escalating issues where necessary
Identify opportunities to improve hygiene, housekeeping, safety, and operational performance
Ensure products consistently meet quality standards and specifications
Support and promote a strong quality-focused culture throughout the operation
Make informed decisions to ensure products meet all required standards before distribution
Requirements
Previous experience within a similar role in an FMCG or manufacturing environment
Willingness to work a flexible shift pattern, including days, nights, weekends, and Bank Holidays
Good written and verbal communication skills
Strong numeracy skills
A proactive approach to health and safety
Excellent attention to detail, particularly regarding quality and compliance
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work across multiple operational areas
Positive attitude with a strong team-working ethic
Ability to lead by example and support colleagues when required
Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
Basic IT and computer literacy
