We are seeking an experienced Production Merchandiser based in our China factory to manage and execute day-to-day production merchandising activities, with a strong focus on costing, supplier coordination, production tracking, and on-time delivery. This is a hands-on role requiring close collaboration with factories, internal production teams, and headquarters to ensure bulk production runs smoothly, within target cost, and according to critical timelines. The role will also involve team supervision and vendor management.
Job Responsibility:
Manage costing and conduct price negotiations with suppliers and vendors under FOB and CMT terms to meet target prices and margin requirements
Work closely with Production Managers and factories on a daily basis to monitor production status and ensure accurate delivery schedules
Track and report production progress, risks, and delivery updates to headquarters through the company system (Airtable)
Maintain and manage detailed order trackers covering production milestones, timelines, and shipment status
Provide weekly production updates and proactive risk alerts to management
Evaluate new vendors for potential business, including assessment of capacity, pricing, quality, and compliance
Support vendor onboarding and provide training on company requirements, standards, and production processes
Identify and resolve issues during bulk production, including quality problems, delays, capacity constraints, and cost challenges
Act as a key point of contact to resolve internal cross-functional issues related to production and merchandising
Lead and supervise the merchandising team in daily operations, task allocation, and execution
Report directly to the Manager and support smooth communication between team members and management
Requirements:
Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in production merchandising within the garment/apparel industry
Strong hands-on experience in factory coordination, bulk production follow-up, and cost control
Solid understanding of garment manufacturing processes and critical path management
Good English communication skills (spoken and written) as a working language
Chinese national, based in China
Strong negotiation skills with suppliers and factories
Excellent organisational and time-management abilities
Proven problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
High attention to detail with strong follow-through on timelines
Ability to manage multiple orders, suppliers, and deadlines simultaneously
Team leadership capability with experience guiding junior merchandisers
Comfortable working with digital systems and tracking tools
