We’re looking for a lean-focused Production Manager who is highly visible on the shop floor and confident leading in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for the operation end-to-end, driving consistent standards across shifts and reducing reactive 'firefighting' through strong routines and accountability. You will lead Shift Managers, coach teams, challenge the status quo, and deliver improvements in safety, quality and output.
Job Responsibility:
Keep a strong presence on the floor, walking production regularly
Lead and coach four Shift Managers (and their wider indirect teams)
Drive performance through the core manufacturing KPIs (OTIF, OEE, waste/scrap and more)
Review shift reporting daily, challenge commentary, dig into issues being raised
Move the operation away from firefighting by putting strong standards in place
Lead with positivity and resilience
Stay uncompromising on safety and quality, completing H&S observations, leading investigations
Support new product rollouts and continuous improvement activity, including 5S and Kaizen
Requirements:
Lean capability: Green Belt essential, Black Belt desirable
High-volume manufacturing leadership: Proven experience leading production teams in a fast-paced environment
Coaching-led leadership style: Calm, firm and fair
Accountability and organisation
Structured problem solving: Confident with A3 thinking, investigations, process flows, and getting to root cause
Integrity: Honest, transparent, and comfortable challenging 'we've always done it this way'
