Job Description

Amentum is seeking a Multiskilled Technician to join our team in Sanford, NC! Typical work schedule is 10:00 pm to 6:30 am; hours may vary based on business demand. Weekend hours may be scheduled to support our 24/7 operation. Multiskilled Technicians are responsible for providing an intermediate level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventive and corrective maintenance on the production equipment and systems in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide an intermediate level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventive and corrective maintenance on the production equipment and systems in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Perform all aspects of preventive and corrective maintenance on all production related industrial systems including CNC machinery, robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, and coolant systems
  • Effectively communicate with the site management team and the customer to understand requirements, solve basic to intermediate electrical and mechanical problems, and provide solutions to manufacturing problems
  • Identify and correct any safety-related issues and perform equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures
  • Performance of preventive maintenance on process/production equipment as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Respond to and provide service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations, and industry standards
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems
  • Understand company policies and enforce safety regulations
  • Safely perform functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tag out procedures and wearing PPE as required
  • Prepare/complete assigned tasks in conformance with applicable procedure requirements provided by the supervisor
  • Coordinate work with others in discipline group and other discipline groups on the project
  • Responsible for neatness and accuracy of work
  • May train other technicians
  • May prepare formal reports on experiments, tests, and other projects
  • Provide technical guidance and assistance to less experienced personnel
  • Perform other tasks as requested by management

Requirements

  • Combination of education or experience in industrial maintenance 3 years of experience
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
  • May require a valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift
  • Flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift
  • Ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift
  • Ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift
  • Ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift
  • Ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift
  • Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding
  • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement
  • Ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress
  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed
  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment
  • Must be willing to work overtime when required
