Job Description:

Our newest factory, located along the Virginia border, breathes new life into a former brewery, creating an innovative and technologically advanced pet food manufacturing facility. We have transformed the existing structure in Rockingham County to produce leading dry dog and cat food brands, including Purina Pro Plan®, Purina ONE®, and Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets®. Job Responsibility:

Strategic performance management of a production area
Communicate with factory teams on matters pertaining to building operations
Ensure all operations are performed in a safe, quality, efficient and cost-effective manner
Provide technical direction
Lead and communicate continuous improvement initiatives through coaching, feedback, and recognition
Assist the Operations Manager in developing department and team safe work practices/training documents and help to establish goals, strategies and measures that support plant and company
Monitor team member job training and performance
Actively seek opportunities for continued improvement in all operations and make recommended improvements
Review operations schedule to ensure needs of the business are met, and work with maintenance to ensure time is allowed for preventative maintenance
Provide technical guidance to Production Team Leaders and Technical Operators
Coach, develop team, and provide feedback to production team members
Communicate cross functionally regarding all operations, personnel and budgetary/resource issues

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and 2+ years of experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, military or related environment OR High School diploma and 5+ years of experience in leadership role in manufacturing, production, warehouse, military or related environment
