The Janitor will be responsible for performing sanitation operations for the plant during production. Essential functions includes general janitorial duties throughout all areas of the Plant, both manufacturing and non-manufacturing and maintaining cleanliness according to quality standards.
Job Responsibility:
Perform cleaning and sanitation duties in assigned areas to include: Production lines, Trash dock, Trash compactor, Dumpsters, Exterior dock doors, steps and walkways, and any other areas as assigned
Follow all safety guidelines, including reporting any unsafe conditions, near misses, injuries, or accidents to the shift Team Leaders or Manager
Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety
Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Sanitation Practices (GSP) as outlined by Ajinomoto
Handle equipment and chemicals in accordance with company, government and safety data sheet guidelines
Assist with other Sanitation work as needed
Requirements:
A High School Diploma or its equivalent preferred
Experience in sanitation procedures in a food manufacturing plant is helpful
Good English communication skills (reading, writing and verbal) are essential to interface with co-workers, Team Leaders and Managers
Must be willing to work together with co-workers as part of a team
Must be self-motivated and able to work with little or no supervision
