Job Description

Are you a hands-on problem solver with a passion for bringing creative concepts to life? We are seeking a Production & Installation Technician to join our dynamic team in Surrey. This role offers the chance to work on exciting, fast-paced retail window and store display projects, collaborating closely with our production and installation teams. In this role, you’ll play a key part in building, assembling, and adapting unique display concepts, all while meeting tight deadlines in a high-energy environment.

Job Responsibility

  • General Build Tasks: Cutting wooden bases, drilling holes for cable management, and assembling clip/bolt-together metal frameworks
  • On-Site Installation: Installing projects in-store with the team
  • Project Preparation: Derigging, packing, and loading displays ready for installation
  • Workplace Maintenance: Ensuring a clean and tidy work environment
  • Quality Control: Inspecting finished products to meet high-quality standards and safety regulations

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a production/build environment
  • Proficiency with general hand tools and light power tools
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team

Nice to have

  • Skills in carpentry, light electrical work, and metal assembly are highly desirable
  • Experience in retail window installations

  • Responsible for the connection of control panels, application requirements, wire concealment, and security software installation
  • Install, program and configure commercial electronic security systems for enterprise commercial clients (door access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, low voltage communication, electronic locks, point sensors, signaling devices, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot new installations to ensure the systems are functioning properly and satisfy codes
  • Demonstrate Allied Universal’s core values as a highly skilled leader on the Installation Team
  • Supervise several teams comprised of Security Installation Technician I’s and II’s
  • Manage several medium- to large-sized jobs simultaneously, doing so within approved hours and margin tolerances
  • Drive to client sites with a company-issued vehicle to perform the system installation and confirm the system is operating effectively and meets contract requirements
  • Installation of electrical wiring, panels, cables, and security devices
  • Completes miscellaneous tasks as assigned by manager
