The purpose of this Production Supervisor is to oversee the shift safety, quality, production and people development/management of the site’s bar soap manufacturing department to achieve continuous improvement in manufacturing operations. The role requires rotational shift work.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee the shift safety, quality, production and people development/management of the site’s bar soap manufacturing department
Work as a trusted guide to plant management for all production related queries
Drive execution of the production plans for a shift of approximately 25- 30 union workforce personnel
Be a teacher to the team and enable them to perform their roles in compliance with the written regulatory programs
Provide a common standard of communication and engagement across the factory
Work closely with core factory functions such as Manufacturing, HR, Quality and Safety
Utilize appropriate safety and environmental procedures
Reduce costs due to waste and minimize impact to health, safety and the environment
Apply core knowledge of Quality skills
Promote the development of a highly effective team
Facilitate technical improvements using World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and UMS improvement tools
Coach Operators and teams to increase team performance
Hold operators and the team accountable
Make governance decisions for team and resolve unresolved team issues
Apply rigorous Cost Deployment and the Zero loss concept to eliminate losses
Identify, prioritize and address problems using appropriate tools and techniques
Coordinate business resources and apply risk management processes
Timely and accurate administration for a cluster of teams
Prepare work plans within resource constraints and review implementation to drive improvement
Understand the business needs for change and innovation
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or STEM related discipline
0-2+ years minimum of Manufacturing experience
Strong technical skills and proven ability to leverage BI dashboards and create automated excel databases, among other systems
Must be able to work a rotational shift schedule
Must be able to work flexibly and agilely as needed to meet leadership duties and attend training
