The Production Engineer role puts you at the heart of improving how production operates, driving efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing day‑to‑day performance. You’ll analyse current processes, diagnose problems, and design practical solutions—while coaching teams to embed smarter, more effective ways of working. You’ll also manage and optimise Glovia (ERP) product structures and routings, ensuring accurate data that supports efficient production planning and strong financial accountability.
Job Responsibility:
Lead continuous improvement initiatives within New Product Developments cutting edge technologies by challenging existing processes and driving innovations that increase efficiency, reduce cost, elevate quality, and strengthen delivery performance
Establish accurate and efficient manufacturing routings that define the sequence of operations, required resources, and processing times necessary to produce each product
Apply continuous improvement and root‑cause analysis techniques such as 5Y, PFMEA, and fishbone to solve issues effectively
Reduce setup and run times, feeding all validated improvements back into the ERP system for accurate planning
Implement lean manufacturing practices, including 5S, to optimise workflow and boost productivity
Co‑ordinate R&D and development projects to ensure a smooth transition into production
Maintain and update key system applications to ensure data accuracy and reliability
Co‑ordinate work order processing for major or new products, ensuring efficient flow from order to delivery and providing updates to project managers as needed
Requirements:
Experience in a production workshop environment, with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt (minimum), with strong CI and RCCA problem‑solving capability
Experience supporting NPD processes and working to ISO 9001 standards
Capability to work under own initiative, whilst maintaining communication
Confident using ERP/MRP systems, MS Office, and analysing production data
Knowledge of PFMEA (desirable) and 5S methodology
Strong communication skills and the ability to drive improvement across the SMR & other product lines
