Job Description:

Reporting to the senior mining engineer, the role will be responsible for daily planning, short term mine schedule, mine designs, production plans and production reporting in support of the company’s open pit mine and production activity. This is a permanent full-time role based at our Pilgangoora Operation in the Pilbara region, which operates on an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO in the Pilbara region.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and deliver daily and short‑term mine plans and production schedules
  • Prepare accurate daily, weekly and monthly production reports
  • Monitor production performance and conformance to plan
  • Chair daily production and weekly planning meetings
  • Work closely with Mining, Geology, Survey and Drill & Blast teams to optimise outcomes
  • Provide clear work instructions, dig directions and sequencing guidance
  • Maintain accurate production data and mine planning systems
  • Ensure mine designs, schedules and activities meet safety, environmental and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Mining Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience in short‑term mine planning, scheduling and production reporting within an open pit operation
  • Working knowledge of mine planning and scheduling software (e.g. Surpac, Alastri or similar)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to monitor performance and drive conformance to plan
  • Confident communicator able to collaborate with cross‑functional operational teams
