The Production Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the daily activities and setting up equipment in processing and packaging. Assist employees with issues and define whether the gaps are machine or people/training related. Provides recommendations for production runs. Responsible for maintaining product quality standards as set by the QA department.
Job Responsibility:
Coordinates the production floor schedule with supervisor and/or production scheduler daily and crew appropriately to estimate run times and inform supervisor of all production issues
Assists in developing One Point Lessons (OPL) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for training purposes
Assists employees with issues that arise during shift and troubleshoot technical issues
Communicates policies to team members and acts as liaison between supervisors and team member
Completes time approvals, researches pay issues, validates punches and works centers as needed
Provides input to and may help conduct team member evaluations in a fair and timely manner
Maintains materials and equipment needed to pack finished goods (i.e. Formers, boxes, etc.)
Trains and oversees new employees which includes onboarding and on the job training
May participate in interviewing, training, and onboarding new team members
Assists leadership with meetings with employees as needed
Supports and participates in Continuous Improvement initiatives including 5S (sort, set, shine, standardize, and sustain), centerline, and problem solving
Reviews schedule and provides leadership and direction to production employees
Participates in daily KPI and informational meetings on a set frequency
Coordinates during shift sanitation functions and performs sanitation assignments/shutdown cleanup duties as scheduled
Coordinates Maintenance support/repairs of processing areas
Performs Leader Standard Work to ensure standards, centerlines and key performance metrics are upheld
Prepares end of shift paper work
Audits shift paperwork for completeness and accuracy prior to turning in
Maintains and ensures all logs of all daily activities are completed and turned in
Completes KPI entries as required by site program
Assists in coordination of supplies needed for daily production by communicating with lead operators, warehouse personnel, managers and other shift supervisors
Analyzes Quality and/or Machine data to identify trends, implement corrections, and make suggestions for improvement
Controls site specific processing standards by making machine adjustments
Checks scales, baggers, and production distribution systems daily to ensure efficient packaging runs
Leads shift quality checks and makes suggestions for adjustments
Ensures case label printers are in working order and being used on all lines
Ensures product run off is handled and labeled appropriately
Ensures 1st case quality check is completed per guidelines and all information is accurate
Coordinates with QC on product holds to ensure they are documented and processed appropriately
Practices and adheres to appropriate safety and hygiene guidelines/procedures for safe housekeeping and personnel protection
Keeps work area and isles/exits clear and free from obstructions
Functions in the role of a Process Technician or Packaging Technician as needed
May fill in for supervisor as needed
May be required to work mandatory overtime
May perform other duties as required
Requirements:
A minimum of 1 year of experience as a machine operator or other technical/leadership experience. High School Diploma or GED.
