Job Description

SRG are delighted to be working with one of Scotland's most innovative scientific start-ups to support in their search for both college and university graduates to join their production chemistry site based in the West End of Glasgow. This company have received vast amounts of investment both public and private and are now looking to scale up their production operations. They have recently opened a brand new first of it's kind facility and are looking to expand the team with a number of new hires.

Job Responsibility

  • Work as part of the scientific operations shift team
  • Assist in setting up automated chemical reactions
  • General lab maintenance & cleanliness (Stock solutions, preparation of raw materials, glassware maintenance)
  • Communicate with other teams to ensure lab maintenance is up kept across the business
  • Collaborate on cross-disciplinary tasks

Requirements

  • Recently qualified chemistry (or similar) students (HNC, HND, BSc or MSc will be considered)
  • Demonstrable experience in a laboratory environment is essential
  • Must be hard-working and be able to demonstrate a willingness to learn and contribute
  • Must be flexible and agile to work varying shifts in a fast-moving environment
  • Demonstrable knowledge of safe laboratory practises

  • Support inventory management of raw materials, intermediate products, finished goods, analytical samples, and QA Retains through cycle counts, database management, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with Research, Sustaining Engineering, Process Development, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and other Production Chemists/Supervisor to ensure successful transfer of new products into Production and to improve processes within the production department
  • Documentation in lab notebooks, batch records, and basic databases
  • Promote a safe work environment. May provide recommendations on maintaining the safety of the work environment. Participates in Environmental Health and Safety programs. Addresses corrective actions whenever a hazard is identified. Notifies supervisor of all observed hazardous conditions or unsafe work practices
