Job Description

Are you passionate about politics? The ABC News Decision Desk is hiring a temporary production associate to work with The Decision Desk Team in preparation for the 2026 election cycle. The Decision Desk provides projections of election outcomes, delegate estimates and editorial support for ABC News’ election coverage, including ABC News network broadcasts, ABC News Live, ABC News Audio, and ABC News Digital platforms.

Job Responsibility

  • Learn the ABC Vote, AP, and SSRS applications
  • Assist in ongoing, comprehensive testing of ABC News’ election computer systems to verify that we receive all data from our data providers, AP and SSRS, in real time and that it is accurately displayed in all areas
  • Assist during rehearsals, trainings and on election nights to ensure everything runs efficiently
  • On primary election nights, assist in the allocation of delegates based on an analysis of the vote
  • Become one of the two-person team that staffs our Help Desk on Election Nights
  • Assist in getting all elements of the D-Desk up and running for Election Nights
  • Offer logistical and administrative support when needed, including answering phones, ordering supplies, booking travel

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • 5 days in office
  • Attention to detail
  • Interest in politics a plus
  • Familiarity with excel spreadsheets and other applications
  • Clear and effective written and communication skills
  • The ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
  • Works well under deadline pressure
  • Bachelor's Degree, attending university or equivalent experience
