Job Description:

We are currently seeking a motivated Production Assistant to join the team of our esteemed client, a well-established leader in the bakery and food manufacturing industry. In this essential role, you will be at the heart of the packaging department, ensuring that high-quality products are prepared efficiently and safely for distribution.

Job Responsibility:

Operate packaging machinery, including baggers, forkers, and dividers
Perform quality control checks on products before packaging
Monitor equipment for jams or malfunctions and take prompt action
Accurately package, tray, and box finished products according to specific guidelines
Operate and monitor metal detectors, maintaining meticulous logs
Assist with machine changeovers, including swapping bags and Quick Locks
Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work area
Adhere strictly to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety procedures
Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with the Bagger Operator and Shift Supervisor
Assist with material handling, including stacking trays and boxes on pallets
Support general cleaning of machinery and the plant facility as assigned

Requirements:

Must be eligible to work in Canada
Must be punctual, dependable, and able to commit to full-time hours
Previous experience in food production is a strong asset
Strong verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting
Proactive problem-solving abilities
A strong sense of teamwork and cooperation
Good physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks while standing for extended periods - lifting up to 55 lbs
Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
Comfortable wearing PPE including hair/beard nets, and no jewelry allowed
Steel toed boots required
Previous experience in manufacturing/production setting is an asset
