We are seeking a Product Support Technician for our client’s Project Amplify team. This will be a one-year hybrid engagement in Beaverton, OR is scheduled to start in December. The Project Amplify team is a multidisciplinary team of Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Software Engineers, Designers, Digital Leads, Researchers, Program Managers, Scientists, and Algorithm/Controls Engineers. Job Responsibility:
Work closely with the Engineering Lead to understand the hardware design and vision, then work relentlessly to ensure a healthy fleet of hardware is available at all times
Develop new tools, methods, and procedures to document hardware status, version history, or capture data
Interface with the Engineering Team to collaborate on the best approach to testing and verifying designs
Brainstorm on assisting with quick solutions to unforeseen issues in product or test equipment
Analyze and summarize hardware health, then communicate findings to the Amplify Project Team
Utilize electronics and mechanical aptitude to assemble, rework, and troubleshoot mechatronic systems
Perform functional checks on devices that may be operating outside of normal parameters
Correlate sensor values to their real-world implications utilizing established diagnostic tools
Support build operations and utilize tools ranging from manual hand tools, epoxies, heat presses, and laser cutting equipment
Organize, track, and maintain spare parts inventory necessary for quick turnaround repairs
Manage a fleet of devices while tracking their current state of rework and custom modifications in an organized manner
Operate, monitor, and manage cycle test equipment
Work at the command line level while interacting with the device or test equipment
Utilize ESD best practices during electrical component handling and soldering
Maintain focus and consistency on delicate, sometimes repetitive tasks
Ensure all work is completed following appropriate safety guidelines
Requirements:
BS in Engineering or related fields -OR- AS plus 2 years of experience
Effective communication, people, and collaboration skills
History of conducting hardware repairs and documenting in systems
Bias toward action and resilience in the face of challenges
