Job Description:

You’ll join Microsoft Advertising’s Product Storytelling Team, a new, purpose driven function built to be the connective tissue between product strategy sales enablement and market execution. Our team exists to translate complex product capabilities into clear, compelling, insight led narratives that help customers immediately understand the value of our advertising and marketing solutions. We bring coherence, creativity, and emotional resonance to every touchpoint, ensuring that our stories scale across marketing, sales, and customer conversations. In this role, you’ll work in the Product Storytelling Team side-by-side with Product Marketing, Sales, Brand, Research, and Insights to turn product truths into customer centric narratives, scalable assets, and high impact go-to-market motions that drive adoption, clarity, and measurable business impact. Our team was created to close a known industry gap - customers and sellers need clearer, more emotionally engaging stories - and your work will directly address that need at one of the most exciting moments in our transformation. As a Storytelling Strategist, you will shape how our products show up in the world. You’ll architect the commercial narratives that define our market presence, infuse them with powerful customer and industry insight, and help translate them into the sales enablement and campaigns that move customers from understanding to action. You’ll own narrative development end-to-end, collaborating across product, marketing, and sales teams to design gotomarket strategies, build high value content, and bring unified stories to life across the customer journey. This role demands mastery of modern storytelling, deep knowledge of digital advertising, and the ability to balance strategic clarity with creative craft to generate stories that resonate, differentiate, and scale.

Job Responsibility:

  • Shape Product Vision & Influence Strategy.
  • Develop Value Propositions, Messaging, & Global Frameworks.
  • Lead GotoMarket Strategy & Execution Across the Journey.
  • Craft High Impact Narratives & Storytelling Assets.
  • Drive Cross Functional Narrative Alignment & Market Activation.
  • Build Storytelling Systems, Playbooks & Scalable Processes.
  • Embody and promote Microsoft’s culture and values.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field AND 3+ years experience in marketing, product storytelling, GTM strategy, or related roles
  • or equivalent experience OR a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field AND 5+ years experience in marketing, product storytelling, GTM strategy, or related roles
  • or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience driving cross functional collaboration and influencing diverse stakeholders across product, sales, and marketing teams.
  • Experience in B2B product marketing for technology, digital advertising, SaaS, or AI powered solutions, including positioning, GTM strategy, sales enablement, or narrative development.
  • Proven ability to partner across Product, Sales, Integrated Marketing, Insights, and Brand to deliver unified narratives and integrated marketing plans that drive customer understanding and business results.
  • An ability to create clarity and work within new, developing contexts to establish ways of working and focus on delivery, rather than roadblocks - being comfortable with a “builders” mentality and “growth mindset”.
  • Strong storytelling craft. Able to simplify complexity, create emotional resonance with customers, and see how to translate complex technical solutions into meaningful need-based communications, and build narratives that scale across audiences and channels.

Nice to have:

  • Master's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field AND 6+ years' experience in marketing, product storytelling, GTM strategy, or related roles
  • or equivalent experience OR a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field AND 8+ years' experience in marketing, product storytelling, GTM strategy, or related roles
  • or equivalent experience.
