This pivotal role drives the New Product Development process, focusing on bringing fast-trend products to market globally. You will join the Group's China team, reporting directly to the General Manager of China, while maintaining a crucial professional reporting line to the Brand Product Marketing teams at the Headquarter. This role acts as a vital link, bridging global brand vision with the speed and insights of the Asian supplier network, primarily focusing on China.
Job Responsibility:
Market & Trend Research: Conducting deep-dive market and product trend research in Asia (China focus), including competitive analysis and supplier engagement, to identify innovative product opportunities
Global Product Development: Collaborating closely with HQ Product Development teams to bring new products from concept to global launch, covering packaging, texture, application, and full-scope ideation
Project Management: Efficiently managing complex projects to achieve cost, quality, and timing targets
Supplier Relations: Close collaboration with and evaluation of the cosmetics supplier network in Asia, including the search for new potential suppliers, evaluating their expertise (lab standards, packaging development), and leading independent negotiations on product purchase prices in alignment with Global Buying
Quality Assurance: Coordinating product sampling, being responsible for shade matching, and approving final texture and packaging quality at the production start
Requirements:
Proven professional experience in Product Management or New Product Development, ideally within the cosmetics, beauty, or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industries
Strong experience in working with and managing suppliers, particularly within the Asian (China) cosmetics supply chain
Excellent negotiation and project management skills with a strong focus on cost and quality control
A keen eye for market trends, competitive environments, and the ability to translate insights into actionable product concepts
Strong intercultural communication skills and fluency in both written and spoken English and Mandarin Chinese
