Join us as a Product & Proposition Manager - Barclays Retail Financial Assistance where you will play a key role in shaping the future of our retail banking products. In this pivotal role, you will lead the management and development of existing and new products and services, taking ownership of customer and colleague end-to-end journeys to deliver outstanding outcomes. You will define and execute product strategies, drive change across Barclays’ execution teams, and make critical decisions throughout the product lifecycle - ensuring alignment with service levels, regulatory requirements, risk management, and controls. As part of a dedicated team, you will also help shape the Financial Assistance strategy, engaging with industry and regulatory bodies, using market insights and data to challenge and enhance processes, that will allow you to contribute to strengthening governance and control frameworks, enabling effective decision-making, and ensuring the best outcomes for customers in financial difficulty. Job Responsibility:
Development of customer level strategies & solutions that are tailored to customers’ needs
Subject Matter Expert in the applicable Product/Proposition team and be able to confidently guide and advise stakeholders at all levels in the Bank on the application of existing and new products/propositions and related customer and colleague journeys
Development of product propositions, and/or service strategy, define the priorities for delivering the outcomes needed to deliver the strategy and lead execution of the priorities
Development of different commercial and business models through a strong understanding of the financial drivers of the P&L for the relevant segment/ proposition/ journey
Evaluation of the technical feasibility, legal compliance, and potential risks associated with the development and launch of the new product
Monitoring of market trends and analysis feedback from internal employees and target customers through prototypes, user testing sessions, and beta programs to identify areas for improvement to refine the product / process before launch
Management of comprehensive launch plans and technical deployments for products that establish rollout timelines, marketing strategies, training initiatives and communication channels to promote the launch new products effectively
Monitoring of key metrics such as adoption rates, usage patterns, customer satisfaction (including complaints), and revenue generation to assess the product's performance against set goals
Requirements:
Demonstrated experience working with digital tools and platforms - including agile delivery tools (e.g. Jira/Kanban), data and MI (management information) tools, customer journey/UX (user experience) artefacts, and standard collaboration platforms
Genuine curiosity about how customers use digital channels and technology, with experience in customer journeys, digital channels, customer insight and test-and-learn approaches, and the ability to translate customer behaviour or data into clear proposition or journey changes
Ability to work effectively with digital, data, UX and engineering colleagues. Demonstrated exceptional problem-solving skills, that allows you to work both independently and part of a team
Confident in engaging with internal and external stakeholders with the ability to influence and/or challenge those in leadership positions
Proven ability in prioritising workloads to meet challenging and evolving workloads and timelines
Good commercial acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to understand and articulate complex information
Nice to have:
Knowledge of regulatory landscape, market trends, and external influences e.g. CONC (Consumer Credit Sourcebook), MCOB (Mortgage Conduct of Business), Consumer Duty
Good working knowledge of Financial Assistance strategy in retail Banking e.g. Credit Cards, Loans, Mortgages
Refined understanding of risk and effective management engagement
Knowledge of unsecured and secured regulatory requirements and interpreting these against bank policies and strategies
