We are currently looking for an experienced Product Owner to join our Information Technology Team. The Product Owner is responsible for understanding business needs, prioritizing scrum team workloads, outlining milestones and deliverables and collaborating for smooth delivery at all levels of the process. The right candidate will be a strong leader who can clearly outline the scrum teams’ scope of work, create a roadmap and then ultimately translate it into well-defined product requirements including features, user stories and acceptance test criteria. As a Product Owner at Indiana Farmers Insurance, you will be part of the team that produces software solutions in alignment with business partners expectations that support our vision.
Job Responsibility:
Understanding business needs, prioritizing scrum team workloads, outlining milestones and deliverables and collaborating for smooth delivery at all levels of the process
Clearly outline the scrum teams’ scope of work, create a roadmap and then ultimately translate it into well-defined product requirements including features, user stories and acceptance test criteria
Identifying methods to gain insight and feedback from members as well as other business partners that are external to the organization
Quickly identifying and assisting business with developing requirements and specifications to solve their business needs and issues
Overseeing designs and development of user interaction and usability functions within newly developed and redesigned systems
Keeping abreast of new technical and business trends and changes by reading publications and attending workshops and other systems and applications related training
Requirements:
Three to five years of similar or related systems experience
At least 1 year of experience working in an Agile environment as a product owner
Thorough understanding of and experience in property and casualty insurance industry, required
Bachelor’s Degree in computer technology, business, or other closely related field, preferred
Proven experience in managing multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
Must be able to work in a dynamic environment and have the capability to manage and change priorities as needed to accomplish company objectives
Strong interpersonal communication skills required for effective communication at the staff, peer, and executive levels of the organization, along with vendors and other contacts while managing a project
