We are looking for an experienced Product Owner to support ongoing product enhancement efforts for a Property and Casualty-focused team in Charlotte, North Carolina. Job Responsibility
Drive feature planning and backlog refinement for custom software initiatives supporting Property and Casualty business objectives
Gather business and user needs through stakeholder discussions, discovery sessions, and direct interviews with end users
Convert complex requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation for development teams
Prioritize work items in Jira and monitor task progress to keep delivery aligned with timelines and product goals
Partner with engineering, business, and operational teams to clarify scope, answer questions, and remove blockers during sprint execution
Evaluate proposed solutions through testing feedback, user input, and product analysis to improve functionality and usability
Support Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, reviews, and retrospectives to maintain delivery momentum
Adjust priorities as business demands evolve while keeping product decisions grounded in customer value and team capacity
Requirements
7+ years of experience serving as a Product Owner or in a closely related product role
Proven background working with custom software products in an Agile or Scrum environment
Experience within the insurance industry, including exposure to underwriting and Property and Casualty operations
Strong ability to elicit requirements, document workflows, and create structured user stories and acceptance criteria
Hands-on experience with Atlassian Jira for backlog management, task tracking, and team coordination
Demonstrated skill in collaborating across technical and business teams in fast-paced delivery settings
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the flexibility to respond to changing priorities
Nice to have
Familiarity with tools or environments involving CRM, ERP, cloud technologies, A/B testing, budget processes, or change management is a plus
