Job Description:

Our client is a global B2C SaaS company operating multiple subscription-based digital products with millions of users worldwide. Payments are built on Stripe and PayPal and are already live in production. This role will be the first dedicated payments hire in-house. Until now, payments have been managed across Product and Business teams, with part-time advisory support from a Head of Payments. We’re looking for a Product Owner / Payments Operations Specialist who will become the main point of ownership for payments performance and analytics across the product portfolio. This is a senior individual contributor role with real influence, not a reporting-only position.

Job Responsibility:

  • Own and improve subscription payment performance across multiple products (authorization, retries, recovery, churn)
  • Work hands-on with Stripe to analyze billing, subscriptions, declines, disputes, and fraud signals
  • Identify payment issues and revenue leakage, propose improvements, and drive them forward together with Product and Engineering
  • Run and evaluate payment-related experiments (retry logic, dunning flows, billing rules)
  • Track key payment metrics and build clear dashboards and reports
  • Act as the go-to person for payments-related questions across Product, Business, and Finance teams
  • Flag potential compliance or billing risks and escalate them to the relevant teams when needed
  • You won’t own regulatory compliance, but you will help spot issues early through data and payment flow analysis

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in payments operations, payments analytics, or subscription-based B2C SaaS
  • Strong hands-on experience with Stripe (subscriptions, billing, reporting, disputes)
  • Solid understanding of recurring billing mechanics (auto-renewals, retries, dunning)
  • Experience working with payment KPIs and turning data into actions
  • Comfortable being the first payments specialist and building structure where it didn’t exist before

Nice to have:

  • Experience in high-volume subscription products
  • Exposure to fraud / chargebacks tools (Stripe Radar, Verifi, Ethoca)
  • Background as a payments owner or early hire in a payments function
What we offer:
  • First dedicated payments role in the company
  • High visibility and real ownership
  • Opportunity to shape how payments are handled long-term
