We're looking for a strategic and hands-on product marketer to lead product marketing for FreshBooks Payments, the easiest way for solo entrepreneurs and small business owners to go from invoice to cash. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Product Marketing, you'll partner closely with our GM of Payments, product, and expansion marketing teams to drive strategy, shape the roadmap, lead go-to-market for new features and experiences, and grow both the number of payments-enabled customers and overall payments volume across our base. This is an ideal role for a senior product marketer with deep understanding of small business challenges, and who has experience translating that insight into positioning, launches, and campaigns that resonate with customers and drive behaviour change.
Job Responsibility
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the payments landscape, competitive offerings, and the needs of small business owners managing cash flow and getting paid, and champion those insights across the business
Contribute customer research and insight generation for core Payments ICPs, translating findings into positioning, messaging, and roadmap recommendations grounded in real customer behaviour
Lead end-to-end go-to-market for payments feature launches, pricing and fee changes, from strategy and positioning through execution and results
Drive payments adoption and expansion by partnering with product and expansion marketing teams to design and run experiments and programs that convert new and existing customers and grow their volume over time
Develop messaging, content and enablement programs that enable the organization to tell a clear, consistent, and compelling story about FreshBooks’s financial products to customers and prospects
Define success metrics for your initiatives, establish reporting frameworks, and ensure executive and cross-functional stakeholders are consistently informed about progress against goals
Requirements
7+ years of product marketing experience in B2B software, with a strong preference for experience supporting SMB or professional services customers
A proven track record of leading product launches and feature releases that deliver measurable business and customer outcomes, including adoption and usage growth
Strong positioning and messaging skills, with the ability to distill complex financial products and features into clear, resonant narratives for both customers and internal stakeholders
Deep customer empathy and experience conducting or commissioning research, with a track record of translating insights into action
Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to influence without authority across product, marketing, and leadership
A metrics-driven approach, including comfort defining KPIs tied to product adoption and usage, building reporting requirements, and communicating results with clarity
