Job Description

We’re looking for a Product Manager to lead the evolution of our card processing infrastructure—a core component of the Equals Money Railsr platform. In this role, you’ll drive the product vision, roadmap, and execution for card lifecycle management, from authorisation and transaction routing to settlement, reconciliation, and scheme compliance. You’ll work closely with card networks (e.g., Visa, Mastercard), processing partners (e.g., Marqeta), and internal engineering teams to build a resilient, scalable card stack that enables BIN sponsorship, issuing, and value-added card features across the UK, US and EU. This role demands a strong understanding of scheme rules, card technologies, and the commercial aspects of card processing systems. You'll play a key role in evolving our card technology stack and ensuring we remain compliant, innovative, and competitive in the global payments space.

Job Responsibility

  • Product Ownership: Lead the product strategy for our card processing capabilities across authorisation, clearing, settlement, ledger posting, reconciliation, and dispute resolution
  • Scheme Integration: Interpret and implement changes from Visa and Mastercard operating regulations and technical bulletins. Ensure timely compliance and alignment to scheme mandates
  • Processing Infrastructure: Design and evolve our transaction processing stack, including primary and secondary message handling, stand-in processing, dual-message flows, and fallbacks
  • Partner Collaboration: Work closely with card processors, scheme representatives, and bureau partners to drive delivery, optimise latency, and improve approval ratios
  • API Design: Collaborate with engineering teams to build scalable and secure APIs for issuing, cardholder services, and back-office functions (e.g. reporting, limits, tokenisation)
  • Operational Excellence: Define and monitor KPIs such as transaction success rate, chargeback ratios, scheme fee recovery, and system uptime
  • Compliance & Risk: Partner with legal, risk, and compliance to ensure full alignment with PCI DSS, 3DS, SCA, AML/KYC, and other relevant regulations
  • Strategic Input: Identify innovation opportunities in card technology (e.g., tokenisation, softPOS, network tokenisation, real-time funding) and incorporate them into the roadmap
  • GTM Enablement: Support go-to-market, operational readiness, and partner enablement for all card product enhancements

Requirements

  • 3+ years of product management experience
  • 2+ years specifically focused on card products or card payment infrastructure
  • Understanding of card scheme networks, card processing workflows, and payment message formats
  • Experience working with card processors, scheme certifications, settlement platforms, and dispute management systems
  • Strong technical aptitude—able to work closely with engineering to define APIs, system behaviour, and integration logic
  • Proven track record in leading cross-functional initiatives and delivering high-availability financial products at scale
  • Exceptional communication skills—able to translate complex technical requirements into commercial outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to track key performance metrics and drive data-informed product decisions

Nice to have

  • Experience with embedded card platforms like Marqeta, Galileo, or processors like GPS, Thredd, or FIS
  • Understanding of transaction routing logic and BIN configuration best practices
  • Familiarity with scheme dashboards, network fee structures, and cost-reduction initiatives
  • Experience managing scheme relationships or participating in scheme compliance reviews/certifications
  • Working knowledge of Postman, Figma, and documentation tools like Notion
  • A passion for payment and cards innovation—keen to stay ahead of the curve on topics like tokenisation, real-time payments, or biometric authentication

What we offer

  • 25 days holiday per year + your birthday off
  • Opportunities for progression, development and learning new skills - £250 towards the cost of learning & development
  • Free onsite Nuffield Health gym & pool (London) and discounted gym membership elsewhere

Requirements
  • You are absolutely passionate about AI and constantly experiment to find new ways to work more efficiently with it
  • 5+ years in product management, with meaningful time on platform, integrations, API, or partner-facing products
  • A proven track record of owning a roadmap and leading an engineering team to ship
  • Technical fluency — you program or have programmed in the past, and can hold credible conversations about APIs, auth, and integration architecture
  • Strong product and operational judgment
  • Strong root-cause and systems thinking
  • Comfort working across teams you don't manage — you can align a dotted-line partner org on shared priorities without formal authority
  • Someone who can hear 30 different partner requests and synthesize them into the 2 things that actually matter
  • World-class product taste applied to the unglamorous-but-critical stuff — integrations, auth, reliability — that partners have to trust
  • Sharp prioritization: the ability to weigh the inbound partner queue against longer-term bets and make clear calls
Job Responsibility

  • Do all it takes to make Lovable the platform partners want to build on
  • Own the partnerships roadmap. Define what we build, make the trade-off calls, and drive execution with your engineering team and design
  • Work hand-in-hand with the partnerships org. Take their partner relationships, requests, and context, and translate them into clear product requirements — not secondhand summaries
  • Bring the context. Synthesize what you're hearing across partners into clear themes and opportunities, and present them with conviction and rigor
  • Scope ruthlessly. Partner needs sprawl — your job is to find the smallest thing we can ship that unlocks the most value
  • Balance the queue against the bets. Ship against reactive partner requests while reserving room for proactive integrations worth building before anyone asks
  • Check with users and metrics to learn what works, what should be iterated on, and what should be killed
