Job Description

As a Product Manager, Mobile at FreshBooks you will be the driving force behind the execution of our mobile product strategy. You will partner closely with Design and Engineering to build and launch a new hybrid native app while simultaneously enhancing the mobile-web experience for FreshBooks customers. You will take high-level vision and turn it into actionable roadmaps, ensuring we deliver a seamless, high-quality experience across all mobile touchpoints. You will act as a cross-functional facilitator, adapting your communication to align diverse teams—from Engineering to Marketing—around a shared mobile vision.

Job Responsibility

  • Independently apply solid working knowledge of mobile tools and concepts to adapt our strategy to varied or moderately complex market situations
  • Understand our Customers using data-driven insights, competitive analysis, market intelligence, and customer research. Bring curiosity and a Customer-centric mindset to every decision
  • Manage the immediate needs of a development sprint while staying aligned with the broader 6-month product roadmap. You will skillfully break down complex projects into achievable milestones
  • Drive execution in a cross-functional, dynamic environment. You will partner with engineers, product designers, data analysts, product marketing managers, and others to bring your plans to completion and achieve your stated outcomes. Proactively anticipate communication needs to address misunderstandings before they impact the sprint
  • Partner effectively with designers to ensure our hybrid app feels intuitive and "native" to the user
  • Work with teams across the organization to develop and implement go-to-market plans that drive app usage and create awareness of mobile functionality and the value our apps deliver
  • Establish and maintain a high standard of quality that creates an exceptional experience that is intuitive and personalized, and makes using our apps effortless
  • Other duties as may be assigned

Requirements

  • Track record of successfully launching and iterating on features for native mobile applications (iOS/Android)
  • Proficiency in leveraging product analytics tools (such as Looker, Google Analytics, or FullStory) to deeply understand user behavior and drive iterative product improvements
  • Data-fluency and skills to translate complex data into actionable product insights and influencing strategic decisions across the organization
  • Exceptional communication skills, able to clearly and concisely tailor messages for diverse audiences—from technical deep-dives with engineers to high-level strategic updates for executives and non-technical stakeholders
  • Mastery of asynchronous communication, demonstrating clarity and structure in written product requirements ("the what" and "the why") to empower remote or distributed development teams
  • Organizational discipline to manage and maintain up-to-date communication channels (Slack, Jira, etc.) in fast-paced, asynchronous workflows
  • Proven ability to skillfully prioritize and manage competing demands under pressure, relying on sound judgment and established product management processes

Nice to have

  • Direct experience managing the lifecycle of applications built in React Native or similar hybrid frameworks, or mobile-web optimization
  • Deep understanding of the specific challenges and user expectations within SaaS or fintech industry-focused apps
  • A background in improving mobile-web conversion or UX, bridging the gap between browser-based and app-based experiences

What we offer

  • Equity grant
  • Immediate enrollment in FreshBooks' comprehensive benefits program
