Job Description:

Are you passionate about advanced process control and real-time optimization in the energy and continuous process industries? We are looking for a Product Manager, Energy and Process Optimization Solutions to join our team and lead the development and lifecycle management of advanced optimization products. This is a strategic role at the intersection of technology, customer needs, and business performance — ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, data-driven, and technically engaged environment. In this role, you will be responsible for managing our energy and process optimization solutions portfolio, including our new self-serve optimization suite. You’ll act as the product owner, guiding R&D efforts, supporting sales and service teams, and ensuring our solutions meet customer expectations and deliver measurable value.

Job Responsibility:

  • Strategic Direction: Ensure current products meet customer needs and anticipate future demands with a 5-year outlook
  • Product Development: Define specifications for new products, monitor technology trends, and benchmark against competitors
  • Cost Efficiency: Analyze cost structures, maintain pricing data, and lead productivity initiatives
  • Product Performance: Align product functionality with company promises, define upgrade paths, and develop service offerings
  • Product Quality: Respond to quality issues, drive resolution, and lead continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements:

  • Master’s or higher degree in Engineering (e.g. Chemical, Process, Automation)
  • Proven experience in developing and deploying advanced process control and optimization applications
  • Expertise in automation systems, especially Valmet DNA
  • Understanding of energy processes, technologies, and markets. Awareness of technology trends and the competitive landscape
  • Knowledge of continuous process industries beyond pulp and paper
  • Solid understanding of customer expectations related to optimization solutions in the process industries
  • Advanced process control and optimization expertise: knowledge of algorithms, tools, techniques, and skills required to deliver advanced applications
  • Strong project management and product lifecycle management capabilities
