Air Canada is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Manager to join its Digital Product team. This position oversees both the strategy and execution of new and enhanced features for the Day of Travel portfolio, spanning both mobile frontend and backend solutions. The successful individual must be customer centric, passionate about the travel industry and digital experiences, and comfortable working in a high-paced, high-energy, collaborative environment with a focus on continuous product delivery. The contract length for this maternity leave replacement is for a 12-month period.

Job Responsibility

  • Define, prioritize, and manage the product roadmap for Day of Travel products on Air Canada’s mobile app (e.g. boarding pass, flight status, trips, home screen, digital identification, etc.)
  • Support leadership to ensure the product roadmap aligns with strategic digital program objectives
  • Communicate the product roadmap as part of PI (Program Increment) planning activities, collaborating with other teams to ensure release planning meets goals
  • Collaborate with Solution Managers, System Architects, and Digital Platform teams to ensure functional capabilities and requirements are met
  • Support day-to-day sprint activities with one or more agile delivery pods
  • Oversee the ongoing operation of production features, including support on issues or incidents
  • Drive optimization of Day of Travel products through experimentation, analytics, and continuous improvement
  • Analyze market trends, customer feedback, and analytics data to drive product evolution
  • Directly and/or indirectly lead and mentor a team of Product Owners
  • Be comfortable leading through influence to drive outcomes in a cross-functional team
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and provide clear direction to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Actively participate in meetings across the organization to support the intake of new requirements and provide initial gap assessments as required
  • Prepare presentations to communicate the product vision, roadmap, new features, and data with business stakeholders
  • Stay current on digital trends, evaluate their potential impact, and apply relevant learnings within Air Canada
  • Remain accountable for requirements documentation to enable product and delivery teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or Product Manager focused on delivering complex digital products (8+ years demonstrable experience in lieu of a degree)
  • Experience managing or supporting the development of mobile applications, with a strong preference for experience in the B2C domain
  • Familiarity with designing or implementing APIs to enable complex business logic
  • Ability to provide clear direction and effective communication both in technical and non-technical terms
  • Understanding of digital design guidelines and their application to digital channels
  • Experience directly or indirectly leading a team of Product Owners, Business Analysts, or UI/UX Designers
  • Ability to energize people in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Innovative and creative, with the ability to identify and develop business opportunities
  • Excellent time management, organization, and communication skills
  • Experience leading or participating in product discovery sessions
  • Demonstrated punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment

  • High-level knowledge and/or understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS) serverless stack is strongly desired
  • Prior experience with the Amadeus Altéa Suite of Passenger Service Applications (i.e. CM & ARDWeb) strongly preferred, but not required
  • Experience working with Digital Analytics tools strongly preferred, but not required
  • Prior experience with coding or quality assurance a plus, but not required
  • Airline or travel industry experience a plus, but not required
