Job Description

Perplexity is looking for an experienced product manager to join our small team revolutionizing the way people search and interact with the internet. You will be trusted to envision the future of Comet's mobile experience, working on our mobile apps from ideation to execution. You will work closely with design, engineering, and AI on the product team, focusing on delivering world-class mobile experiences across platforms. The ideal candidate should have strong technical depth from past coding experience, deep understanding of mobile app constraints, and empathy for users. You are passionate about building the best browser for the curious and have strong ideas on how to innovate on mobile.

Job Responsibility

  • Stay on top of both qualitative and quantitative user feedback to understand how to make strong data-driven decisions
  • Develop a roadmap for Comet's mobile apps in collaboration with mobile engineering leads and the Comet PM group
  • Anticipate mobile user needs and opportunities for innovation and value
  • Develop deep expertise in mobile UX patterns and platform-specific nuances of iOS and Android
  • Experience building and delivering a long-term mobile product vision
  • Understanding of levers for mobile-led growth and retention
  • Work closely with engineering and design to align mobile product expectations and capabilities
  • Have conviction to make difficult product decisions that balance performance, usability, familiarity, and innovation
  • Come up with creative new ways to make Comet the best browser for the curious. Be ready to evangelize, excite, and build a vision for the future

Requirements

  • Highly technical with demonstrated coding experience in the past, either as a software engineer or with equivalent computer science background
  • Strong experience with consumer mobile products (iOS and Android)
  • Has worked on consumer software before—ideally mobile or desktop apps. Knows the constraints of binaries that are shipped on user devices
  • Can build vibe-coded prototypes and dig into bugs in code
  • Ability to envision innovative technology and articulate a compelling product vision
  • Strong experience with product management in small, rapid-paced teams
  • Strong experience working with data and user research metrics
  • Has initiative and ownership
  • 5+ years of consumer product management experience, ideally with a focus on mobile
