At Salewa we are looking for a Product Manager Apparel who works closely with the Sr Product Manager to translate the brand strategy into a clear and competitive seasonal collection framework. This role ensures the development of apparel and accessories product lines, in alignment with market needs, brand positioning, and business objectives. Working cross-functionally, the Product Manager delivers high-quality, performance-driven products on time and at the right price, leveraging consumer insights and market trends.
Job Responsibility:
Contribute to developing the seasonal product line plan and category matrix in line with the brand’s strategic direction
Contribute to defining and delivering detailed product briefs (features, design, functionality, target costs, and quality standards) to guide Design and Product Development teams
Support the translation of the brand’s financial objectives into a concrete category business plan, including product concepts, price positioning, and sales potential
Collect and analyze market, sales, and consumer feedback to support line planning and continuous product improvement
Analyze competitors, pricing strategies, and market trends to identify opportunities and support future product direction
Work closely with Design and Development teams throughout the product creation process, ensuring alignment with product briefs and key milestones
Collaborate with Marketing to define product storytelling and support communication with relevant product insights and technical information
Present product concepts and features during sales meetings and internal training to ensure strong product knowledge across teams
Monitor product costs and margins to support category profitability and business targets
Support product lifecycle management, driving continuous improvement based on performance analysis (sell-in and sell-out)
Requirements:
Degree in Economics, Marketing, Communication, Industrial/Product Design or comparable education
5+ years of experience in a Product Management role preferably within the sporting goods or outdoor industry
Strong understanding of the product creation process and product lifecycle
Financial acumen with understanding of sales performance, margins, and merchandising dynamics
Analytical skills with the ability to interpret sell-through data and product performance
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
