Job Description:

At Salewa we are looking for a Product Manager Apparel who works closely with the Sr Product Manager to translate the brand strategy into a clear and competitive seasonal collection framework. This role ensures the development of apparel and accessories product lines, in alignment with market needs, brand positioning, and business objectives. Working cross-functionally, the Product Manager delivers high-quality, performance-driven products on time and at the right price, leveraging consumer insights and market trends.

Job Responsibility:

  • Contribute to developing the seasonal product line plan and category matrix in line with the brand’s strategic direction
  • Contribute to defining and delivering detailed product briefs (features, design, functionality, target costs, and quality standards) to guide Design and Product Development teams
  • Support the translation of the brand’s financial objectives into a concrete category business plan, including product concepts, price positioning, and sales potential
  • Collect and analyze market, sales, and consumer feedback to support line planning and continuous product improvement
  • Analyze competitors, pricing strategies, and market trends to identify opportunities and support future product direction
  • Work closely with Design and Development teams throughout the product creation process, ensuring alignment with product briefs and key milestones
  • Collaborate with Marketing to define product storytelling and support communication with relevant product insights and technical information
  • Present product concepts and features during sales meetings and internal training to ensure strong product knowledge across teams
  • Monitor product costs and margins to support category profitability and business targets
  • Support product lifecycle management, driving continuous improvement based on performance analysis (sell-in and sell-out)

Requirements:

  • Degree in Economics, Marketing, Communication, Industrial/Product Design or comparable education
  • 5+ years of experience in a Product Management role preferably within the sporting goods or outdoor industry
  • Strong understanding of the product creation process and product lifecycle
  • Financial acumen with understanding of sales performance, margins, and merchandising dynamics
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret sell-through data and product performance
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Planning and organizational skills
  • Very good English skills
  • Availability to travel internationally
  • Passion for mountain and outdoor sports
