Job Description:

We’re a global team of over 400 people, working together to push the boundaries of open-source technology and multi-cloud solutions. Our vision is to help developers, builders, and creators bring their ideas to life with speed and simplicity, by providing a cloud data platform that makes open-source databases, search, streaming, and application infrastructure easily accessible to everyone. At Aiven, we are building the best platform to build production applications and AI agents. Our ambitious vision requires a Product Manager to help shape how developers and builders create, deploy and run production apps and agents. Aiven believes that the apps and agents that matter rely on data, need to scale and are built on open source technologies. This is the foundation of our Apps platform. As the Product Manager leading this initiative you will drive the roadmap for taking this application to hundreds of thousands of developers globally. Aiven's global data platform is the foundation to build this platform through a methodical product - sales and agent lead growth strategy. You will work closely with a growth team of engineers, designers and other specialists bringing this vision to reality. You will be hands-on with customers and internal stakeholders to drive delivery and iteration speed.

Job Responsibility:

  • Co-own with the Head of the DevEx department the product strategy and roadmap for Aiven App Platform, enabling developers to create powerful, scalable apps with minimal friction
  • Deeply understand the developer ecosystem — from frameworks and tools to workflows and channels — and use these insights to shape the product
  • Find and drive new ways for developers to integrate and consume Aiven services, whether via SDKs, APIs, CLI, MCPs, AI and ecosystem integrations
  • Partner and align with colleagues across the Product, Solution Architecture, and Customer Success teams to better understand customer needs and enable their product teams to build faster
  • Drive product prioritization and roadmap planning, balancing developer needs, business impact, and technical feasibility to deliver maximum value
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales to craft product positioning, messaging, and GTM strategies that resonate with technical audiences
  • Serve as the business advocate by interpreting market trends, gathering customer feedback, identifying growth opportunities, and generating ideas - while effectively communicating insights back to the team and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years as a product manager/product owner experience building technology-powered B2B products in the applications and AI space
  • A builder, empowered by AI. Showcasing strong mindset of building artifacts and PoCs, to drive the vision with tools and examples
  • Experience shipping products for technical audiences, with a strong grasp of APIs, SDKs, integrations, MCPs, skills.md and the AI ecosystem around Apps
  • Hands-on experience with modern product discovery techniques to deeply understand real user problems while validating the best possible solutions
  • Excellent communication skills, especially when speaking to developers, partners, and internal stakeholders.

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with infrastructure scaling, resiliency, and security is a plus, especially in cloud environment
  • Previous experience in a platform product, engineering, or solutions architect role would be advantageous and relevant.
What we offer:
  • Participate in Aiven’s equity plan
  • Balance work and life with our hybrid work policy
  • Choose the equipment you need to set yourself up for success
  • Use your Professional Development Plan budget for learning opportunities
  • Receive holistic wellbeing support through our global Employee Assistance Program
