In this role you lead the strategic development and delivery of data products that unlock measurable business value, drive analytics innovation, and ensure alignment to enterprise data strategy and governance. The role orchestrates cross-functional squads (engineering, architecture, data governance, analytics) and guides Product Owners across a portfolio of data products (e.g., curated datasets, data APIs, semantic layers, reporting/MI, ML enablement) serving core insurance domains. This role translates business outcomes into product vision and roadmaps, structures demand and priorities, embeds regulatory and control frameworks, and ensures adoption and benefits realization. The role will specialize in the Operations & Regulatory domain. The role requires close collaboration with business units, data / change leadership and outsourced partners to unlock the value of data assets, drive innovation, and support decision-making through advanced analytics and AI.
Job Responsibility:
Own product vision, domain strategy, portfolio roadmap, value outcomes, and cross-product alignment. Sets standards, prioritization criteria, and governance expectations. Accountable for adoption and benefits
Lead / Partner with Product Owners to translate strategy into prioritized backlogs, acceptance criteria, and release plans
Ensure delivery practices (Agile/Scrum/Kanban), NFRs (performance, governance, resilience, privacy-by-design), and control frameworks (quality, metadata, lineage) are embedded
Identify opportunities for data-driven innovation across the underwriting lifecycle including, claims, pricing, and customer engagement
Quantify and measure outcomes (e.g., loss ratio improvement, leakage reduction, campaign ROI uplift, cycle-time reduction)
Maintain product-level scorecards and dashboards tracking usage, quality, SLA performance, and business impact
Ensure partner deliverables meet standards, SLAs, and regulatory controls

Coordinate with Architecture, Engineering, Data Governance, Analytics/AI, and Service Management

Regulatory Data Products: Own products enabling our regulatory commitments (Lloyds, PRA, FCA, CBI, CID, Solvency II, etc), support operational resilience, Board reporting, and compliance requirements
Control Evidence & Lineage: Ensure end-to-end lineage, certification, data quality rules, reconciliations, and retention/records management
Process & Cost Efficiency: Drive process mining/automation, reduce manual reconciliations, and modernise regulatory workloads
Audit & Assurance: Maintain audit-ready artefacts, control attestation, PIRs for incidents/defects, and remediation plans
Requirements:
Ability to define and drive data product strategy aligned with business objectives
Experience in designing and operationalising data policies, principles, and strategic frameworks
Strong understanding of relevant insurance / data domain
Experience in influencing and aligning senior leaders across business and technology
Proven track record of leading high performing data product teams
Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field

Demonstrable experience of data product management or analytics product leadership within insurance or financial services

Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of the specialist area (Ops/Reg, Dist/Marketing, or Policy/Claims) and adjacent functions (pricing, risk, finance)

Proven experience managing outsourced delivery partners or third-party vendors for global data teams
