Job Description:

The Microsoft Threat Protection (MTP) team is at the forefront of defending hundreds of millions of users against the world's most sophisticated cyberattacks. We build AI-powered security products — including Microsoft Defender for Office 365 — that protect email, collaboration platforms (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive), and the broader Microsoft 365 ecosystem from phishing, business email compromise (BEC), ransomware, and zero-day threats. Our products process billions of signals daily, leverage cutting-edge machine learning models, and are trusted by enterprises, governments, and small businesses worldwide. We are a fast-moving team that values customer obsession, data-driven decision making, and a passion for security. At Microsoft, our mission—to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more—guides how we partner with customers to deliver trusted, impactful solutions. With a growth mindset culture, we innovate responsibly and measure success by shared progress—people, teams, and customers. Join us to do meaningful work that changes the world and helps shape what’s next for everyone.

Job Responsibility:

  • Contribute to the product roadmap for email and collaboration threat protection features within Microsoft Defender for Office 365
  • Define and write clear product specifications and requirements for AI-driven detection and response capabilities, working with engineering and data science partners
  • Conduct customer research — interviews, surveys, telemetry analysis, and support escalation reviews — to understand user pain points and identify opportunities
  • Analyze threat landscape trends, competitive offerings, and security industry developments to inform product strategy and prioritization decisions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, engineering, security research, marketing, and support teams to deliver features from concept through launch
  • Support go-to-market activities including writing customer-facing documentation, preparing product demos, and contributing to blog posts and announcements
  • Stay current on AI/ML advancements and cybersecurity trends, proactively identifying how emerging technologies can strengthen our protection capabilities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree OR equivalent experience
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience
  • 1+ year(s) experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn)
  • 1+ year(s) experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product)
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
