Job Description

Lead, plan and direct the overall engineering and manufacturing activities for a product line. Direct and oversee the activities associated with providing world class quality and manufacturing engineering technical support to the manufacturing areas that meet or exceed customer expectations. Plan, schedule, facilitate and supervise the daily activities of the manufacturing team(s) ensuring quality, safety, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery goals are attained.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead, plan and direct the overall engineering and manufacturing activities for a product line
  • Direct and oversee the activities associated with providing world class quality and manufacturing engineering technical support to the manufacturing areas that meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Plan, schedule, facilitate and supervise the daily activities of the manufacturing team(s) ensuring quality, safety, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery goals are attained
  • Identify and implement improvements (jointly with manufacturing teams) that reduce product cost 5% annually, improve quality and maximize customer satisfaction
  • Ensure maximum safety, quality, capability and utilization of manufacturing/processing equipment and processes
  • Facilitate the continuous research and implementation of “Best Practice” manufacturing/processing methods and processes
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the Manufacturing Engineering Strategic plan
  • Facilitate new product introductions and/or current product modifications
  • Review and quote processing and production equipment and tools
  • Ensure effective documentation and control systems are developed, utilized, and maintained
  • Assist the Product Line Mgr. in recommending, justifying and administering the capital plan
  • Determine, justify, and coordinate the purchase and implementation of new equipment and processes jointly with manufacturing teams (Track tooling and AR expenditure)
  • Review and make disposition on non conforming materials
  • Prepare and make presentations to customers, employees, and all levels of the management team
  • Lead and champion a teamwork approach to achieving goals with particular emphasis on Production Teams and AQP Steering Committee activities
  • Provide technical leadership, training, and support to manufacturing teams as well as peers
