Purpose of the Job Responsible for overseeing freight operations, managing service providers, optimizing costs, and ensuring the smooth movement of shipments across the region. Job Description • Oversee end-to-end freight operations across the region, ensuring seamless movement of cargo. • Monitor and improve service levels, ensuring timely delivery and high customer satisfaction. • Optimize freight routes and carrier selection to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness. • Manage relationships with freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines, and trucking providers. • Negotiate contracts, rates, and service-level agreements with logistics partners. • Conduct regular performance reviews of carriers and implement corrective actions when needed. • Analyze freight costs and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality. • Monitor budget and financial performance, ensuring cost control and profitability. • Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to optimize freight spend and drive savings. • Develop and implement strategies to enhance freight operations and regional logistics. • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within freight operations. • Drive initiatives to improve operational efficiencies and reduce transit times. • Work closely with internal teams, including supply chain, sales, and customer service, to align freight operations with business needs. • Act as the primary point of contact for freight-related escalations and problem resolution. • Provide reports and insights on freight performance, trends, and opportunities for improvement. • Ensure all freight activities comply with international trade laws, customs regulations, and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 10+ years’ experience in freight, logistics, or supply chain management, preferably in a regional role
  • Strong understanding of freight forwarding carrier negotiations, customs clearance, and international trade laws
  • Experience working with air, ocean, and land freight operations
  • Proficiency in freight management systems (FMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and ERP software

  • Quality Assurance & Inspection: Oversee pre-shipment quality and packaging inspections of each batch

  • Coordinate and identify third-party labs for additional independent testing when required
