Under the direction of the Shipping and Receiving Coordinator and the Shift Team Lead, loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site by performing the following duties.
Job Responsibility
Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand
Occasionally loads boxed, crated or palletized materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit
Supports materials conveyance from or to storage, work sites or designated area, whenever instructed by MOS Team Lead
Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination
Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on a daily basis
Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, reels, bales, or other containers
Loads truck for Industrial Truck Operator
Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and clean work area
Shovels loose materials such as sand, gravel, metals, plastics, or chemicals, into machine hoppers or into vehicles and containers such as wheelbarrows, scrap truck, or barrels
Responsible for all data entry necessary to add, issue and/or return materials
Operates industrial forklift truck or electric hoist to assist in loading/unloading or moving materials and products
Assembles end-fitting kits as required
Occasionally, may support manufacturing processes as needed to meet production goals
Performs other reasonable related duties as assigned by immediate Manager as necessary
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Some knowledge of how to operate software programs like spreadsheets and word processing
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to read and understand bills of materials, and differentiate between parts that are similar in nature
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Ability to work effectively with company personnel and customers
Must be insurable by the company's insurance carrier
Must possess a valid driver's license
Must have regular attendance on the job
Must be bondable
Must be able to operate and certify on industrial forklift truck or electric hoist
